33. Reports » Tools » Routing¶
Routing tab displays the BGP announcements (routing updates) sent by Wanguard and provides a way for Console users to send BGP announcements manually.
33.1. Active BGP Announcements¶
It displays all active BGP announcements sent by Console users, Sensors or Filters, and permits Console users to send and withdraw BGP announcements manually.
The Actions top bar contains buttons according to the configuration of BGP Connectors.
The New Flowspec Rule window:
The New Blackhole and New Traffic Diversion windows:
When there is at least one active BGP announcement, the following table is displayed in the content area:
BGP Connector |
BGP Connector used for the routing update. When Grouping is set to BGP Connector, a single click allows you to delete all announcements that used it. |
Role |
Role configured for the BGP Connector. Can be Unset, Mitigation or Diversion. |
Prefix |
The prefix contained in the BGP routing update. When Grouping is set to IP/Mask, a single click allows you to delete all announcements for that prefix. |
Status |
A green check mark indicates that the announcement was sent successfully, while a red “X” icon indicates an error. Most errors are listed in the BGP Connector Events sub-tab. A warning sign indicates that the anomaly that triggered the announcement is no longer active, but the announcement still is. In this case, you should remove the announcement manually and investigate the cause (e.g. check Console Events to see if a user expired the anomaly forcefully). |
Originator |
Indicates the username of the Console user that sent the announcement, or the anomaly for which the announcement was generated. To avoid overlapping announcements, only a single announcement is sent to the backend when there are multiple anomalies for the same prefix and BGP Connector. |
From |
Time when the BGP announcement was sent. |
Until |
Time when the BGP announcement will be withdrawn. |
Flowspec |
Contains details about the BGP Flowspec rule. |
Pkts/s (Peak) |
This column is visible only if you’re using Flowspec and the Flowspec Counters feature is enabled in ExaBGP Connector. |
Bits/s (Peak) |
This column is visible only if you’re using Flowspec and the Flowspec Counters feature is enabled in ExaBGP Connector. |
Comments |
Contains user comments about the BGP announcement. |
Actions |
It contains a button for manual removal and a button for adding/modifying user comments. The column is hidden for guest accounts without proper permissions. |
33.2. BGP Announcement Archive¶
Lists all BGP announcements sent by Sensors, Filters and Console users. By clicking the down arrow of any column header, you can apply row filters, change sorting direction or toggle columns’ visibility.
Most of the columns are explained in the previous section. The Originating User column, hidden by default, shows the Console user that sent and withdrew the announcement. The Status column shows ACTIVE when the announcement was sent successfully, FINISHED when it was withdrawn successfully, UNKNOWN when the announcement was not yet sent or when there was an error, and DELAYED when the announcement was not effectively withdrawn because there is another similar announcement still active.
You can modify the status of announcements manually by double-clicking rows. The modification is applied only to the database, not to the Quagga BGPd/ExaBGP configuration.
